I hope to god that this movie poster I just found is a hoax! I dont want to see futurama in a live action format. There are things you can do to a cartoon character that aren't funny when you do it to an actor.

Re: Is this true? Live action?!?!
Wed, February 15, 2006 - 9:40 AMWow. That would be awful! Can you imagine a feature film based on a property like Futurama with *those* effects for the main characters? Groening'd be spinning in his future grave!
Besides, Zach Braff just learned to speak as a party trick. Like Fry.
"Like Fry! Like Fry!" -

My wife organized a group of folks to do a Futurama gang at Norwescon one year. I was supposed to be either Zoidberg or Farnsworth, but I was too wrapped up in a workshop to contribute, although I did have my lab coat and slippers and pajamas nearby.
She's Leela in a lot of ways.

Re: Is this true? Live action?!?!
Wed, February 15, 2006 - 2:01 PMWell, I hate the idea. Don't they get the idea that Zoidberg is cute? And Leela's eye should be grapefruit-sized. And Fry shouldn't look so worldly. And what would they do about their voices? They cannot change their voices.
What's the difference in cost to produce a live-action vs. animated program? I've always thought it cost much less to animate, so people with edgier ideas can get a break. But then, I'm always amazed at all the people listed in the credits.
